culinary portfolio-thing time!
i began seriously baking & cooking in 2022 after graduating from a culinary school. I've always had a passion for cooking & baking ever since i was very young but never really knew how to start. Currently, i'm working on perfecting breads, but i've got pastries, cakes, etc. down pretty well already. in all honesty, i'm not really sure how to write a portfolio. the most i've written are job applications and whatnot. This whole page isnt anything too serious but a way to humble brag about my skills that i've picked up over the past year.
before picking up culinary, i was a visual artist & struggling a lot with my mental health. thankfully i'm better now, cooking and baking still serves as an outlet for stress or helps me slow down and think when i feel too overwhelmed nowadays. even though baking in itself does cause me a lot of stress, especially over fermentation times, ingredients, bakers percentages.. the works, it's still less stressful than being a popular visual artist or even musician on the internet. when it comes to culinary, your biggest critics are 1. yourself. that's it, usually your family and friends will love everything as it comes from the heart. my core belief is that culinary is not about perfection persay, but about making yourself & others around you happy. my main goal is to make the whole world smile with anything i create within my kitchen .. everyone deserves to feel at home while enjoying a warm slice of bread, or a piece of cake.. or even a crossaint. that is my main goal, to instill the feeling of "home" within everyone who eats it. i solely create things from scratch, i rarely use boxed mixes and if i ever do i make it clear that it's from a box. all of my syrups, jams, etc. are typically homemade aswell. did you know i also make coffee? it's very low level and amateur but i think it tastes great. my current focus is working on food presentation, i've never been the best at it but i'm slowly improving, so please be gentle with me
