my name is marlie, though, i go by many names. atleast five of them. namely, nina, lilla & lamm (eng trans. Lamb) i made this website as a passion project & as an open love letter to loved things & loved ones. i began coding in 2017 on deviantart, but before that i had messed around with tumblr themes in 2015. i'm still an amateur, obviously. i'm from the USA, but originally i'm from germany. i'm autistic & due to this i tend to latch onto different things and topics strongly. my idea behind my website is that by coding one, i could both improve my skills & have a place to talk about things i enjoy without any judgement from others. my core belief is that social media is a toxic cesspit, everyone should strive to distance from it as much as possible & be their true selves no matter what. i truly got fed up of the internet once the current discourse topics (usually stemming from tiktok . . . ) began to pop up and interfere more and more with my daily life. i only ever use social media for friends, to microblog & to post cool images, now. my main interests are littlest pet shop, arthouse film, media analysis, music & music creation, coding, fashion & culinary. i graduated from highschool in 2022 & i'm 18 years old. i ended up in highschool at the age of 13 due to skipping a grade, and graduated highschool at 16 again due to.. skipping a grade. i graduated culinary school when i was 17 but offically got my certification just a week before my 18th birthday. i spend my days baking, tending to my sourdough starter (maja)

listening to music, and talking to my best friends in the whole wide world. my connection to the internet is incredibly complex. i've been on it since i was seven. I think i truly began understanding the internet and myself in late 2013 when i discovered yung lean & SBE. in 2015, i was fully ingrained with an established tumblr blog and my first ever aestethic; vaporwave. i had vaporwave posters, dressed in adidas and oversized hoodies and drank exclusively arizona and fiji water (not exageratting..) nowadays though, i don't have a set aestethic. i wish i could but its hard to stick to just one thing; hence why every page on this website may be themed differently! some nature, some pink and cute, some inspired by japanese fashion subcultures, and some.. basic or vaporwave. just stick around to find out!
growing up, i was mainly a visual artist. from the age of three i began drawing and painting according to my parents. one of my earliest memories is being six years old in germany and watercoloring trees (they were bad. i was 5. but still.) my parents still have some of the art i made in elementary school, and i still have sketchbooks from middle school. the first aestethic i was truly introduced to was what i like to call.. tumblr emo
surely, theres probably a different name for this, anyways. my earliest internet experience was myspace. i only ever lurked on there. i had one of those super early smartphones (the ones with a physical keyboard that slid) which i used to browse myspace. i learned piracy and other internet stuff while my parents were working and i wanted to edit videos for free and listen to free music (this is before streaming was a big thing..)
all of that to say, i grew up on the internet, and i very much regard it as home even though i prefer to spend time outdoors. the internet is where my friends & found family are, the internet is where i watch videos that comfort me and play around with ai. the internet is.. the internet.
